Facts: Good order – greater safety

A work site must be planned and fitted out so that pedestrian and motorised traffic is not impeded by materials and suchlike. The health and safety plan must indicate how and when the site is to be cleared up, and clearing up at the site includes the following:

  • Materials must be placed in specific areas
  • Access routes and stairs must be kept tidy
  • Cables must be hung on walls or ceilings
  • Excess materials must be removed
  • Waste must be removed from the site immediately
