When carrying out renovation tasks, the existing roof structure may be weakened to such an extent that there is a risk of falling through it. Before work is carried out, check the see whether the roof can bear weight. Any defects are rectified, or safety arrangements are established. The tender documentation must make it apparent if the roof does not have the bearing capacity required.
