Facts on asbestos

Asbestos is made up of very thin fibres which are dangerous to inhale. Inhaling the fibres will damage your lungs and can cause pneumoconiosis and cancer that manifests itself only 30-40 years after exposure.

Asbestos has been prohibited for insulation purposes in Denmark since 1972, and in Eternit products since 1986. Before this, it was widely used. Therefore, there is a risk of encountering asbestos in buildings which predate this period.

If you are in any doubt, the rules on asbestos must always be followed.
