Good lighting makes working a lot easier. But it can be hard to work by artificial light as it may cause shadows or dazzle you. So here is some good advice on lighting:

• Deep shadows can be avoided by using more lamps
• If the light is dazzling, it is fitted incorrectly
• There should always be light from two sides
• Light intensity is measured in lux
• The older a light source is, the less light it gives off
• Place plugs close to the entrance
• Keep fittings clean and in good condition
• Cordon off rooms which do not have sufficient lighting
