Light intensity is expressed in ohm.

All areas where you and your colleagues are working must be lit to at least 25 lux.

All rooms which are not bright enough must be cordoned off, even if the room is just used as a thoroughfare.

When you are indoors and cutting plasterboard or other materials, the room must be lit to 50 lux.

Having the wrong lighting in the workplace can lead to eye strain, muscle tension, headaches and even injuries and accidents.

Any work area used as a thoroughfare but where nobody is working must be lit to 100 lux.

If a room is lit to 500 lux, it is fine for the next room you go into to be lit to 25 lux.

Orientation lights and work lights should be distributed over as many electrical groups as possible

There should always be as much light as is practicably possible; so the higher the lux, the better.
