Facts on cutting roof tiles
Roof tiles must be cut using stationary wet cutting machines placed either on a scaffold, on the ground or on a platform on laths.
- All roof tiles to be cut are placed one tile’s distance away from their final location and a cord or pencil is used to mark along the straight edge.
- Roof tiles are laid in small batches, normally of 5 – 6 tiles.
- They are marked individually with a pencil or according to a template which indicates where they are to be cut.
- The roof tiles are numbered and transported for cutting on a wet cutting machine.
